Vinyl Acetate Monomer

Our Vinyl Acetate Monomer (VAM) is a high-purity, clear, colorless liquid with a characteristic sweet, fruity odor. It is an ester monomer containing a reactive carbon-carbon double bond (vinyl group) that readily undergoes addition polymerization and copolymerization. Supplied with an inhibitor (typically hydroquinone or diphenylamine) to prevent premature polymerization during storage and transport, VAM is one of the most important industrial chemicals for producing a wide range of polymers and copolymers.

Ethylene-Vinyl Acetate (EVA): For hot-melt adhesives, photovoltaic cell encapsulation films, and foam soles. Vinyl Acetate-Ethylene (VAE) Emulsions: A key binder for low-odor, low-VOC interior paints, construction adhesives, and non-woven binders. Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVOH): Produced by hydrolysis of PVA, used in textile sizing, paper coating, and as a film-forming agent.

An intermediate for producing safety glass interlayers.

Why Choose Our Vinyl Acetate Monomer?

High Reactivity: Readily undergoes free-radical polymerization and copolymerization with a wide range of comonomers (e.g., ethylene, acrylates, vinyl chloride).

Versatile Building Block: The polymerizable vinyl group and hydrolyzable acetate group make it a precursor for both adhesive polymers and water-soluble polymers.

Key to Emulsions: Ideal for producing stable water-based emulsions (latex), which are environmentally friendly alternatives to solvent-based systems.

Stabilized: Contains inhibitors to ensure safe handling and storage.
