Our Tetrasodium EDTA (EDTA-4NA) is a high-purity, white crystalline powder or granules with the chemical formula C₁₀H₁₂N₂Na₄O₈. It is the tetrasodium salt of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA). Compared to its counterpart EDTA-2NA, EDTA-4NA is highly alkaline (pH of 1% solution ~11-12) and offers even higher solubility in water. Its primary function is to act as a powerful chelating agent, effectively binding to and deactivating di- and trivalent metal ions (such as Ca²⁺, Mg²⁺, Fe³⁺) that can cause a variety of problems in formulations and processes.
